A staple in the rituals - it transcends the passive act of routine - of beauty editors and skintellectuals alike, Then I Met You's Living Cleansing Balm effortlessly melts away make up, sunscreen and excess sebum while feeding your skin with antioxidants and fatty acids.
The ultimate first cleanse, this sorbet-soft balm is designed to be massaged into skin - pause to appreciate the sensorial notes of rosemary, persimmon and grapefruit - to easily melt away oil-based impurities. It's crafted from a luxurious blend of lightweight plant oils including sea buckthorn oil (adored for its abundance of fatty acids such as stearic acid, oleic acid, linoleic acid, and omega 6); olive oil (a nourishing antioxidant that boasts anti-inflammatory properties and supports your skin barrier); finally, grapeseed oil (an antioxidant-rich emollient that nourishes as it gently lifts impurities - cue round of applause). It doesn't end with that holy trinity of oils though - it's also laced with persimmon extract to protect your skin from free radicals and promote a brighter tone, plus vitamin E to promote a healthy, youthful finish. We're so glad we met this formula...
For the first step of your double cleanse, use the spatula to scoop a dime-sized amount onto dry skin and gently massage in circular motions. Add a splash of warm water to emulsify and remove oil-based impurities. Rinse thoroughly before moving to step two, a water-based cleanse with the Soothing Tea Cleansing Gel.
Olea Europaea Fruit Oil (Olive), Vitis Vinifera Seed Oil (Grape), Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Peg-20 Glyceryl Triisostearate, Peg-8 Isostearate, Cera Microcristallina, Hippophae Rhamnoides Fruit Oil, Ceresin, Synthetic Wax, Orbignya Oleifera Seed Oil, Diospyros Kaki Fruit Extract (Persimmon), Aniba Rosaeodora Wood Oil (Rosewood), Citrus Paradisi Peel Oil (Grapefruit), Rosmarinus Officinalis Leaf Oil (Rosemary), Tocopheryl Acetate, 1,2-hexanediol, Bis-diglyceryl Polyacyladipate-2, Ethylene/Propylene Copolymer, BHT, Limonene
As there are differences between US and European labelling requirements, you may notice a slight variation amongst ingredient listings on differing sites. Limonene, for example is a compound found in Grapefruit Oil, and the UK requests it to be listed out separately. Then I Met You can assure you that all products boast the same formulation, with the same sorbet soft texture that everyone loves!

The best cleansing balm ever!
I got a sample and I absolutey fell in love and had to buy the full size one! the consistency is lovely, it melts into an oil beautifully to clean your skin, spa like scent (but not overwhelming) and skin is clean and very soft after use. It is a little bit on the pricier side, but it will last you a very long time! Would recomand this to everyone!
Report this reviewExcellent
The best cleansing balm, really. Takes everything off, it’s soft, smells very subtle. It does consume quite fast though and a bit too expensive for that. I wear makeup daily so i do use it a lot, but a previous (famous) product i was using, in the same manner, was like never ending and half the price.
Report this reviewall the spa feels
I loved this cleansing balm. As the other reviews said it does need a second cleanse to be properly rinsed off if you don't want to rinse your face with just plain water too much. However, the texture is amazing, it melts in a second and isn't "crumbly" like lots of cleansing balms tend to be. It's great at removing make up and I only ever experienced stinging when literally a chunk of product got in my eye but that's on me. Also for reference I have rosacea and dry skin and this did not feel stripping at all nor did it give me a flare up of any kind, if anything anytime I double cleansed with it I woke up to brighter looking skin. Would repurchase but right now I'm trying out another cleansing balm.
Report this reviewA bit heavy
Although I like the scent, I feel it is a bit heavy on my combination/ sensitive skin. It kinda leaves a residue and you definitely need to second cleanse after that. A bit pricey also for 90g of product. Wouldn’t repurchase again.Â
Report this reviewGood product
I have mixed feelings about this balm. On one hand, I like the consistency and concept - that it is washable (compared to using the cloth). It definitely takes away the make up and spf. However, I have the feeling that it exaggerated my very mild rosacea and I got some acne on my cheeks because if it :(
Report this reviewLove it!
Lovely cleansing balm, the texture is super smooth and melts nicely onto your skin while cleansing. It removes makeup well without leaving a greasy feel like some cleansing balms do. It has a really nice fresh fruity scent that feels more like real fruit than perfume. Highly recommend this cleansing balm!
Report this reviewGood cleansing balm, a bit expensive
It's a good cleansing balm that takes all the makeup away (but for mascara, I use a micellar water). The consistency is thick and reminds me of the Elemis cleansing balm. The smell is lovely, with a citrusy and a hint of balsamic scent. The price is a bit high for 90 ml of product.

I love this balm. Not only it removes every trace of makeup but leaves the skin with a soft glow. You can rinse it with water before gel cleanser or use a cloth. I tend to do both and it works for my skin which is combination sensitive.Â
Report this reviewAmazing Product! Will Definitely Re-Purchase
This Cleansing Balm is worth the hype!!! It cleans my face so well, it takes all of my make-up and SPF off on the first wash and leaves my face so soft and fresh afterwards. I will keep buying this cleanser over and over again, I love it so much!
